
Dari judul pameran, tampak bahwa penekanan material yang dipergunakan adalah keramik terakota. Pameran ini menampilkan karya-karya mahasiswa, lulusan dan dosen Prodi Kriya Keramik ITB dan Ceramic Course, Department Industrial, Interior and Craft Design, Musashino Art University. Hopefully, it will be beneficial to all of us. In addition to introducing the traditional culture of Nusantara terracotta containers to foreign countries, this exhibition is also expected to contribute as a reference for artists, craftspeople, academics in interpreting and expressing traditional values with a new vision, opening up global networks and access. This exhibition is one of the efforts to interpret the objects of the terracotta tradition, to produce works that have novelty values as well as to preserve their original traditions. Heretofore, traditional terracotta ceramic objects are still widely studied and therefore have undergone many changes and developments both on the conceptual and practical sides, which show how the inheritance of knowledge runs dynamically. This title was chosen as a summary of the many events, phenomena, stories, and expressions that underlie the ideas and meanings of the works displayed in this exhibition. Terra Cotta Nova – Traces of the Past in the Future. In 2020, due to the pandemic situation, this exhibition activity was postponed and it was agreed to be held in 2021 virtually, in collaboration with Musashino Art University Japan. Teru Okada, an expert on traditional Japanese Bizen ceramics. The second exhibition was held in 2019 at the Soemardja Gallery, ITB Bandung with the title “Bizen to Bandung” by inviting Prof. In 2018, the first international exhibition was held at the Museum of Kake, Okayama, Japan, in collaboration with Kurashiki University of Science and the Arts, Japan. Collaboration is carried out with foreign institutions and involves professors, lecturers, and students.


This exhibition is an important part of the multi-year collaborative research program that was initiated and has been running since 2018. All praise and thanks be to Allah SWT for His mercy so that this exhibition can be held properly.
